Finding the perfect storage solution for dangerous goods is never easy. Each ADR hazard class requires its own specialized storage conditions, and the warehouse has to comply with strict laws and regulations. As a result, only very few companies can provide safe, certified storage solutions for all ADR hazard classes and CMR substances.
Safe storage of dangerous goods, worldwide

ADR-compliant storage according to PGS 15
In the Netherlands, PGS 15 (Publication Series on Hazardous Substances) serves as the standard guideline for storing packaged dangerous goods, with specific rules for volumes below and above 10,000 kg.
This regulation outlines facility requirements and safety protocols. Special Cargo’s sites meet and exceed these standards. All our facilities are designed from the ground up to protect people, property, and the environment.
Built to meet the highest safety standards
Dangerous goods storage facilities must be equipped with advanced fire suppression systems, specialized ventilation technology, and specific storage methods to ensure substance separation. All our facilities meet the very strictest standards. Our in-house hazardous materials experts are fully versed in national and international protocols, laws and regulations. Whatever challenge you throw at them, they’ll make sure your goods are stored in full compliance with the latest safety and environmental regulations.

- ADR Class 6.2: Infectious substances (only UN 3291 and UN 3373)
- ADR Class 7: Radioactive materials (Nuclear Energy Act)
- ADR Class 8: Corrosive substances *
- ADR Class 9: Miscellaneous hazardous substances and articles, such as environmentally hazardous substances and lithium batteries *** / *
* Exception: mineral fertilizers (PGS 7)
** LQ packaging up to 1000 kg containing substances with UN numbers 3103 to 3110 (Type C to F without temperature control). Other 5.2 substances: PGS 8
*** Lithium batteries: PGS 37-2
Specialized storage for exceptional risks

- Class 7 (radioactive materials): we also provide ADR-compliant storage for radioactive substances in both the Netherlands and the USA.
- Class 1 (explosive substances and articles): Special Cargo Services has multiple designated high-compliance sites where Class 1 materials can be stored safely.
